Baqubah: The River Police of the Diyala Police Command recovered the body of a young man who drowned in the Diyala River.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the River Police, after search and rescue operations, were able to recover the body of a young man who drowned in the Diyala River, which passes through the Umm al-Adham area south of Baqubah, the capital of Diyala Governorate.

A police source informed a correspondent for the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that this incident marks the third drowning in the past 48 hours. The continuous occurrences have raised concerns about water safety in the region. The police are likely to increase patrols and implement additional safety measures to prevent further incidents.
