Cabinet Approves 14 Billion Dinar Donation from Oil Ministry for Hospital Development

Baghdad: The Cabinet has approved a donation of over 14 billion dinars from the Ministry of Oil to the Ministry of Health to complete the rehabilitation and development of three hospitals.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Cabinet Secretariat stated in a press release that the donation includes 10,115,339,020 dinars for the Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital Directorate to complete its rehabilitation and development procedures. Additionally, 2 billion dinars have been allocated for the Ibn Al-Bitar Specialized Hospital for Heart Diseases and Surgery to complete its rehabilitation and development work. The Heart Hospital in Dhi Qar Governorate will also receive 2 billion dinars for similar purposes.

The statement clarified that the Ministry of Oil’s role is limited to providing the aforementioned funds, while the Ministry of Health will bear full responsibility for all contractual and procurement procedures, ensuring their integrity and accuracy. The Cabinet has exempted these amounts from previous resolutions and Secretariat letters that control expenditures and restrict self-financing companies from providing financial support.
