Canada to Expedite Approval for West Coast Oil Pipeline

Baghdad:The Canadian government has announced plans to accelerate the approval process for a new oil pipeline that will extend to the country’s west coast. This initiative is aimed at increasing crude oil export capacity.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney revealed that the government will designate the Pacific Link pipeline project as a project of national interest. This designation will ensure the project undergoes a unified federal regulatory review process.

The government intends to complete the review and approval process by September 1, 2027. This project is in line with Canada’s goal to speed up the development of strategically important infrastructure and enhance its crude oil export capabilities through the west coast.
