Baghdad: The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has announced a temporary and precautionary closure of the country’s airspace to all incoming, departing, and transiting aircraft for a duration of two hours. The authority plans to reassess the situation and review the decision based on ongoing developments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority released a statement explaining that the measure is in response to increasing regional tensions. The decision is based on a comprehensive assessment of risks associated with aviation security and safety, aligning with internationally recognized standards in civil aviation safety.

The Authority further mentioned that airlines and relevant authorities will be informed of any updates regarding the situation.
