Baghdad: The Coordination Framework condemned on Wednesday the attack that targeted Iraqi territory, saying the country's security and sovereignty cannot be violated or undermined under any circumstances. According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Media Office stated that Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi hosted an emergency meeting of the Coordination Framework at the Government Palace to discuss the U.S.-Saudi attacks on Iraq's sovereignty. The statement said the Coordination Framework condemned the attack that targeted Iraqi territory and resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) personnel and the injury of others, describing it as a blatant violation of Iraq's sovereignty and the sanctity of its territory, in breach of the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter. It added that the Coordination Framework expressed surprise at the attack at a time when the Iraqi government is pursuing a balanced foreign policy based on building relations of cooperation and partnership with its regional surroundings and the international community. The statement said the Coordination Framework extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs and wished the wounded a speedy recovery. It stressed that Iraq's security and sovereignty cannot be violated or undermined under any circumstances, while rejecting any attempt to turn the country into an arena for regional and international conflicts. It added that the attacks targeting Iraq and violating its sovereignty do not serve regional and international efforts aimed at containing the crisis and reducing escalation, but rather contribute to further complicating the situation and threaten security and stability throughout the region.
