Baghdad: Iraqi Airways announced on Wednesday the resumption of its flights to the Russian capital, Moscow, after a five-month suspension. The airline confirmed that flights between Baghdad and Moscow, and vice versa, will recommence starting Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the service will operate twice weekly, every Tuesday and Saturday, beginning on the specified date. Iraqi Airways cited the suspension of flights was due to security reasons following the military escalation witnessed in the region at the end of February this year. The decision to resume the route is driven by a growing demand for direct flights between Baghdad and Moscow.
