Baghdad: The Coordination Framework discussed a number of key laws on Monday, including legislation governing the Popular Mobilization Forces, oil and gas, and the Federal Supreme Court, and decided to proceed with completing the formation of the government.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Coordination Framework stated that it held its regular meeting at the office of former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, where it addressed several priority political and legislative issues. The meeting focused on the law governing the Popular Mobilization Forces, emphasizing the necessity of enacting it to regulate the body’s operations and bolster its role within state institutions. Additionally, it deliberated on other significant laws, notably the oil and gas law, the Federal Supreme Court law, and the Federal Council law. These legislative measures are expected to contribute to completing the constitutional and institutional framework of the state.

Regarding government formation, the Framework reviewed ongoing discussions and underscored the urgency of resolving the issue. It decided to proceed with appointing the remaining ministers to finalize the government formation, thereby enabling it to fulfill its responsibilities effectively.

The meeting also involved discussions on organizing the Framework’s internal work, highlighting the importance of establishing regulations and rules to govern its working mechanisms and decision-making processes. This is aimed at strengthening institutionalization and ensuring a unified stance within the organization.
