Baghdad: The Council of Ministers voted in its 42nd regular session today on several measures to encourage investment in Iraq’s electricity, oil, and gas sectors.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired the session, during which the general issues and conditions in the country were reviewed. The most prominent files in various fields were addressed, and decisions were taken regarding the topics on the agenda.
In the housing sector, the Cabinet made a significant decision to authorize the Minister of Defense and the Governor of Muthanna to select a suitable plot of land within the governorate’s municipal boundaries. This land will be transferred to a real estate developer, as an exception to Cabinet Resolution No. 245 of 2019, similar to other governorates. This initiative aims to distribute the land to Ministry of Defense personnel.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the allocation of plot numbered (18/3 m1 Umm al-Khail) in Diwaniyah Governorate for the construction of the Internal Security Forces Hospital. This approval is without a cash allowance and is intended to support the sacrifices of security forces and honor their efforts.
