Al-mundhiriya: A quantity of medicines prohibited from entering the country was destroyed at the Al-Mundhiriya Customs Center, following the completion of all necessary legal and technical procedures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Customs Authority stated in a press release that the destruction process was executed by a joint committee. This committee included representatives from the Al-Mundhiriya Customs Center’s health center, the Al-Mundhiriya Customs Center itself, the National Intelligence Service office, the National Security office, the Licensing and Intelligence Division at the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing, the Investigation and Search Division, and the Customs Police.

The Authority emphasized that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to tighten control and inspection of goods entering through border crossings. The objective is to prevent the entry of materials that violate regulations and instructions, particularly medicines and medical supplies that are not permitted. This contributes to the protection of society and the enhancement of public health security.

The Customs Authority added that the customs staff and supporting agencies at the Al-Mundhiriya Customs Center continue to carry out their oversight duties in accordance with established legal procedures. This enhances the integrity of processes and maintains border crossings as a crucial line of defense for protecting the economy and society.
