Baghdad: A detainee died after his health deteriorated at a police station in Kufa before he was due to appear in court. According to National Iraqi News Agency, a medical source from the Najaf Forensic Medicine Department confirmed the death of the detainee at the Muslim bin Aqil police station following a sudden decline in his health condition.

A security source reported that the detainee, who was a resident of the Maysan neighborhood in Kufa, was scheduled to appear before the judiciary but died unexpectedly. The source further explained that the detainee was transferred to Al-Furat Hospital in Kufa, where he ultimately passed away.
