Khanaqin:Diyala Police Chief, Major General Mohammed Kadhim Atiya, met with Sarkhel Kamal Mohammed, Commander of Asayish Operations in the Kurdistan Region, to explore ways to enhance security cooperation and coordination. They focused on addressing the status of individuals wanted by the Iraqi judiciary who are currently residing in the region’s governorates.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved discussions on mechanisms for executing judicial arrest warrants against wanted individuals, exchanging information, and coordinating efforts between relevant security agencies. These efforts aim to expedite the arrest process and ensure suspects are handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities, adhering to established legal and procedural frameworks.

The Asayish Operations Commander expressed the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to fully cooperate with Diyala Police Command. He emphasized their commitment to arresting individuals wanted in the region and ensuring their transfer to judicial authorities as per legal procedures.

Major General Atiya reaffirmed that the law transcends administrative or geographical boundaries, asserting that anyone with a judicial arrest warrant will remain a target for security forces, regardless of their location. He stressed that there will be no leniency in the pursuit of wanted individuals to bring them to justice.
