Baghdad: A delegation from the Dutch Embassy visited the Bab al-Wastani site in Baghdad, where they were received by the site manager, Jaafar Sadiq Zaboun. He accompanied them and provided explanations about one of the most prominent remaining archaeological and historical landmarks of old Baghdad. He highlighted the historical and cultural significance and architectural features of Bab al-Wastani, the last surviving gate of Baghdad's ancient city, and its immense archaeological and heritage value, embodying the rich architectural legacy of Baghdad throughout various historical periods.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the visit included a tour of the site, during which the delegation learned about the most prominent architectural and structural details of the gate, as well as the efforts undertaken by the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage to preserve and maintain archaeological sites and showcase their historical value.

Baghdad's Inspector of Antiquities and Heritage, Hisham Fadhil Abbas, indicated that this visit comes within the framework of strengthening cultural communication and introducing Iraqi cultural heritage, which contributes to solidifying cooperation with diplomatic missions and bodies, and highlighting the historical status of Baghdad as one of the oldest human cities.
