Sulaymaniyah: An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was recorded east of the city of Sulaymaniyah, within the borders of Iraq, on Monday. The seismic event occurred approximately 16 km northeast of the city in the Kurdistan Region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the seismic observatories of the Seismic Monitoring Department at the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring documented the earthquake. It took place at 12:25:50 PM local time at a depth of 10 km.
The report further indicated that the tremor was felt in areas close to its epicenter, raising concerns among local residents.
