EFA President to Visit Mohamed Salah in Turkey Amid Dispute with National Team Coach

Trabzon:Cairo The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) is actively working to resolve tensions between national team captain Mohamed Salah and the coaching staff, led by Hossam Hassan. The discord stemmed from an incident during the team’s training camp last September.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the conflict arose after Salah was substituted by Hossam Hassan in the 60th minute of a match against Angola, part of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The match concluded in a goalless draw, and Hassan maintained that the substitution was a tactical decision, not due to any injury.

In an attempt to ease the situation, Egyptian journalist Ahmed Abdel Baset reported that Hany Abo Rida, president of the EFA, plans to visit Salah in Turkey shortly. Salah is currently playing for the Turkish club Trabzonspor. The visit aims to reconcile the differences between Salah and the coaching staff, ensuring his participation in the upcoming training camp.

Abdel Baset shared on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that EFA President Hany Abo Rida’s visit intends to align Salah’s views with those of Hossam Hassan and his brother, team director Ibrahim Hassan. This effort is part of the strategy to ensure Salah’s inclusion in future national team activities.
