Cairo: After deciding to return to the music scene, Egyptian singer Simone promoted her new song, “Optimistic,” which is scheduled for release soon.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Simone achieved significant musical success in the early 1990s with hits like “Not Just a Look and a Smile,” “My Watch Isn’t Working,” and “I’m Speaking Seriously,” the latter performed with singer Hamid El Shaeri. Her return to music marks a significant moment for fans and the music industry alike.

Simone’s career isn’t limited to music; she has made a substantial impact in acting as well. She began her acting journey in 1988 with a role alongside the late Faten Hamama in the film “A Bitter Day and a Sweet Day.” Her acting portfolio includes notable films such as “Suspicion Case” and “Ice Cream in Gleem.” Additionally, she starred in television series like “Zizinia,” “The Godfather,” “Family Ties,” and “Scorpion Hunting,” as well as theatrical productions like “Carmen” and “The Road to Safety 2000.”

In a unique contribution to Iraqi cinema, Simone filmed “Babylon My Beloved,” directed by the late Faisal Al-Yassiri. The film was shot in Babylon and partly in Baghdad, featuring the participation of artist Youssef Al-Ani and Egyptian star Yehia El-Fakharani, among other stars. Simone’s multifaceted career continues to captivate audiences across the region.
