Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has emphasized his country’s priority of achieving a ceasefire in the region and opening the door to dialogue. In a speech delivered during an Iftar dinner for his Justice and Development Party in Ankara, Erdogan underscored Turkey’s stance against witnessing conflict or war in its neighborhood during the holy month of Ramadan, particularly in response to illegal attacks targeting Iran.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan expressed solidarity with the Iranian people, acknowledging the suffering of innocent civilians and children affected by the ongoing conflict. He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to peace and the cessation of violence in the region, aiming for lasting tranquility.
The Turkish President pledged to intensify diplomatic efforts at all levels to establish a ceasefire and restore calm. Erdogan warned of severe consequences for both regional and global security if the conflict remains uncontained.
Erdogan highlighted Turkey’s strengths, including its military capabilities, strong economy, and robust foreign policy, which he believes will enable the country to overcome challenges. He mentioned that Turkey’s security and intelligence agencies are closely monitoring the situation, supported by experienced and qualified personnel in crisis management.
