Budapest: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan headed to Hungary on Wednesday morning to participate in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic Speaking States. Turkish Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun stated in a statement that efforts to strengthen the institutional structure of the Organization of Turkic Speaking States will be reviewed within the framework of the Budapest Summit, which will be held under the slogan “Meeting Point of East and West.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the summit is scheduled to witness the adoption of various documents and resolutions, including the Budapest Declaration. Erdogan is also scheduled to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic Speaking States and hold bilateral talks with the participating heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit.

It is noteworthy that the Organization of Turkic Speaking States was established on October 3, 2009, and includes Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, while Hungary, Turkmenistan, and Turkish Northern Cyprus hold observer status.
