Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has pledged to resume military operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) if it does not fulfill its promises. Erdogan stated during a Ramadan Iftar banquet in Istanbul that operations will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated, should the PKK fail to meet its commitments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan’s commitment to military action follows the PKK’s recent declaration of a ceasefire. This announcement came after Abdullah Ocalan, the PKK leader, urged the group to dissolve itself and surrender its weapons.

Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s capability and efficiency in combating terrorism both within its borders and internationally. He highlighted his government’s focus on dialogue, understanding, and consensus to address Turkey’s issues. He mentioned that Turkey will prioritize mutual respect and dialogue but warned of a strong response if their overtures are rejected.

The Turkish President also remarked on Turkey’s evolution from a nation unable to produce its own rifle to one capable of manufacturing advanced military equipment, including drones, aircraft, tanks, and missiles. Erdogan asserted Turkey’s regional dominance, contrasting it with imperialist powers that he accused of supporting terrorist organizations.
