Federal Police Arrest 16 Defendants and Seize Unlicensed Weapons in Baghdad


Baghdad: The Federal Police arrested a number of those accused of various legal cases and seized unlicensed weapons in Baghdad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that the arrests were part of ongoing security efforts by the federal police sectors aimed at apprehending wanted individuals and ensuring justice is served.



The statement detailed that the federal police successfully arrested 16 individuals accused under various legal articles, including theft, fighting, and discharging firearms. In addition to the arrests, the police seized four Kalashnikov rifles during operations conducted in the neighborhoods of Al-Atifiya, Al-Khatib Al-Agharai, and Seven Al-Bour.



The Ministry of Interior also confirmed that the defendants, along with the confiscated weapons, have been referred to the competent authorities for further legal proceedings.
