Baghdad: Finance Minister Faleh Sari emphasized on Thursday the importance of focusing on implementing projects that directly impact citizens’ lives.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Finance stated in a press release that “Finance Minister Faleh Sari met with a World Bank delegation in Iraq, headed by Emmanuel Salinas, and in the presence of the directors of the Public Debt and Information Technology departments at the ministry.”
The statement highlighted that the meeting addressed “the priorities of projects and programs supported by the World Bank in Iraq, monitoring their implementation, and discussing coordination mechanisms among relevant entities to ensure the achievement of their objectives.”
The Finance Minister stressed “the importance of focusing on implementing projects that directly impact citizens’ lives and achieve a tangible effect on the level of services and development.”
He further emphasized “the importance of strengthening partnerships with international financial institutions and benefiting from their expertise and programs to support project implementation and contribute to achieving Iraq’s development goals.”
For its part, the World Bank delegation affirmed its commitment to “continuing to work with the Ministry of Finance and providing technical expertise and available financing tools to implement projects and advance the development process in the country.”
