Baghdad: The House of Representatives has concluded the first reading of three significant pieces of legislation. During its session today, Thursday, the Iraqi Parliament made progress in legislative procedures by completing the first reading of a draft law aimed at repealing Law No. 169 of 1963. This law had previously ratified the Economic Unity Agreement among Arab League States.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the legislative body also moved forward with the first reading of another draft law. This legislation seeks to ratify the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This agreement marks an important step in strengthening international relations and cooperation between the two nations.

In addition, the Parliament addressed the Republic of Iraq’s involvement in international matters by completing the first reading of a draft law concerning Iraq’s accession to the Convention on International Exhibitions. This convention, originally signed in Paris in 1928 and subsequently supplemented and amended by various protocols over the decades, represents Iraq’s commitment to engaging with global exhibition standards and practices.
