Finance Minister Stresses Need for Effective Trade Partnerships with Britain


Baghdad: The Minister of Finance, Faleh Sari, has underscored the vital role of establishing effective trade partnerships and harnessing international expertise to benefit the Iraqi economy. Emphasizing government efforts, Sari highlighted the importance of supporting the private sector and creating an inviting investment environment to attract high-quality companies and investments.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Finance Minister Faleh Sari hosted a delegation from the Iraqi-British Business Council, led by Baroness Emma Nicholson, on Sunday. The meeting, which included representatives from various Iraqi and British companies, centered on exploring investment opportunities in Iraq and enhancing economic ties between the two nations.



Sari elaborated on the Ministry of Finance’s initiatives to diversify Iraq’s economy and facilitate the participation of both local and international private sectors. He reiterated the significance of forming effective commercial partnerships and leveraging international expertise to implement priority projects.



Baroness Emma Nicholson, representing the Iraqi-British Business Council, expressed a keen interest in broadening the scope of Iraqi and British companies’ activities within Iraq. She emphasized the council’s commitment to fostering communication between the two countries, thereby creating new opportunities for partnerships and investments across multiple sectors.
