Tangier: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Economy, Fuad Hussein, paid a working visit to the Tangier Med Port in Morocco today, Friday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that this visit aimed to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and explore opportunities for joint cooperation in maritime transport and logistics services.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs received a thorough briefing from port officials on the port’s management and operations, highlighting its advanced infrastructure and modern technologies that accelerate loading and unloading processes. The port’s significance as a major logistics hub in the Mediterranean was discussed, emphasizing its role in enhancing international trade and facilitating the movement of goods between Europe, Africa, and the Arab world.

The Minister highlighted the significance of this visit in boosting economic cooperation between Iraq and Morocco, stating that the Tangier Med Port serves as a successful model for the development of Iraqi ports. He explained that this visit is part of ongoing efforts to diversify Iraq’s economic partnerships and strengthen its role in global trade.

Tangier Port officials expressed their willingness to collaborate and share expertise to aid in developing Iraqi ports. They also discussed potential areas of joint cooperation in maritime transport and logistics services, aiming to contribute to sustainable development for both nations.

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein arrived in Morocco the day before yesterday, Wednesday, following an official invitation from Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
