Baghdad: Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Wednesday received a copy of the credentials of Egypt’s Ambassador to Iraq, Ahmed Hussein Khafaji, affirming the strength of bilateral relations.
According to Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein welcomed the Egyptian ambassador at the ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad. During the meeting, the minister emphasized the strong bilateral relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Arab Republic of Egypt, highlighting the importance of ongoing efforts to strengthen and develop joint cooperation across various fields to serve the common interests of the two countries and their peoples.
The minister conveyed the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to provide the necessary support and facilities to the Egyptian ambassador, ensuring the success of his diplomatic mission and reinforcing avenues of cooperation and coordination between Iraq and Egypt.
Ambassador Ahmed Hussein Khafaji expressed his appreciation for the historic and fraternal relations between Iraq and Egypt. He stressed Egypt’s commitment to expanding prospects for bilateral cooperation and consolidating relations across various fields, aiming to serve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
