Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, chaired the tenth preparatory meeting for the Arab Summit, which is set to be held in Baghdad this year. The meeting attracted several high-level officials such as Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, Minister of Culture Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Hamid Al-Ghazi, and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Administrative and Technical Affairs Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al-Dulaimi, among others.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Foreign Ministry’s statement revealed that the meeting focused on the latest developments in the preparations for the thirty-fourth Arab Summit in Baghdad. Attendees reviewed the readiness levels across various organizational sectors to ensure the summit’s success and to showcase Iraq as a safe and stable nation with a significant role in the Arab region.

Fuad Hussein emphasized the need for enhanced coordination among all parties involved to organize the summit at the highest standards. He highlighted the importance of intensifying efforts by specialized committees to address organizational and technical aspects, including security, health, and service arrangements, ensuring a seamless reception for participating Arab delegations.

The Foreign Minister noted that Iraq is working on a comprehensive agenda for the summit, which will address prominent Arab issues. Key topics include boosting economic cooperation among Arab countries and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving regional security and stability.

The hosting of the Arab Summit by Iraq is seen as a significant step reflecting its elevated status at both Arab and regional levels. Participants underscored that holding the summit in Baghdad signifies Iraq’s pivotal role in fostering stability and promoting joint Arab cooperation.
