Foreign Ministers Discuss Geneva Negotiations Progress in Phone Call


Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein engaged in a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, to discuss the recent developments in the Geneva negotiations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement indicating that Araqchi provided an overview of the progress made during the talks. He elaborated on the discussion’s content, outlined upcoming steps, and shared anticipated dates for meetings of the technical committees and the negotiating committee.



Fuad Hussein expressed his appreciation for the update on the negotiations and commended the advancement achieved in the Geneva talks. He highlighted the significance of continued dialogue as the most effective method for addressing unresolved issues.



Both ministers underscored that negotiations are the most suitable approach to problem-solving, emphasizing the importance of avoiding regional escalation and maintaining security and stability. They agreed to persist in their coordination and consultation efforts during the forthcoming critical phase.
