Foreign National Apprehended for Narcotics Smuggling in Kirkuk


Baghdad: A foreign national accused of smuggling narcotics was apprehended in Kirkuk. The Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control announced the arrest, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate detailed that detachments from the Kirkuk Narcotics Affairs Directorate successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt. The narcotics were concealed inside a large truck, and the operation led to the seizure of two liters of liquid methadone found in the suspect’s possession.



The arrest underscores the ongoing commitment of local authorities to address narcotics-related activities and enhance public safety. The Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control continues to implement stringent measures to prevent drug smuggling in the area.
