Karbala: Intelligence and security forces have successfully apprehended a foreign worker accused of stealing 18 million dinars from a gas station in Karbala.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense reported the arrest of a Pakistani national involved in the theft. The operation was carried out by detachments from the Karbala Field Intelligence and Security Directorate, a division of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security.

The directorate’s press release detailed the efforts made by the intelligence detachments, in collaboration with other security agencies, which led to the recovery of 14 million Iraqi dinars. Although the suspect managed to transfer some of the stolen funds to Pakistan, the majority of the money was successfully returned to the rightful owners. The arrested individual has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for legal proceedings.
