Basra: The General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage continues its awareness programs to combat drugs and promote integrity. The General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage is actively implementing its awareness initiatives in collaboration with the National Security Service and the Integrity Commission. These programs aim to enhance institutional awareness and foster a culture of prevention and integrity within the community.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the third lecture in the anti-drug program took place at the Authority’s headquarters. The session was attended by key figures including Nisan Mohammed Jassim, the Assistant Director General of the Administrative, Financial, and Legal Department, and Bashar Al-Rubaie, the Assistant Director General of the Heritage Department. During the lecture, Lieutenant Colonel Alaa Jassim discussed the dangers of drugs, their spread, and the health and social impacts associated with them. He also introduced the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. (50) of 2017, highlighting the significance of institutional cooperation in combating drug-related issues.

In a related initiative in Basra, the Integrity Commission, alongside the Basra Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate, conducted a seminar focusing on “Administrative and Financial Corruption in State Departments.” The seminar explored various strategies to prevent corruption, promote integrity, and safeguard public funds. Mustafa Jassim Al-Husseini, the Basra Antiquities and Heritage Inspector, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering transparency and supporting staff, which ultimately contributes to the protection of state institutions.
