Gold Prices Fall As The Dollar Rises In Baghdad And Erbil


Baghdad: Gold prices declined on Tuesday in local markets across Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region, including Erbil, marking a noticeable drop compared to Monday’s trading. In Baghdad’s wholesale markets at Al-Nahr Street, the selling price of one mithqal (approximately 4.25 grams) of 21-karat Gulf, Turkish, and European gold reached IQD 1.157 million, while the buying price stood at IQD 1.153 million. On Monday, the same category had recorded IQD 1.210 million.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the selling price of one mithqal of 21-karat Iraqi gold was recorded at IQD 1.127 million, with a buying price of IQD 1.123 million. In retail jewelry shops, the selling price of 21-karat Gulf gold ranged between IQD 1.160 million and IQD 1.170 million per mithqal, while Iraqi gold of the same purity ranged between IQD 1.130 million and IQD 1.140 million.



In Erbil, gold prices also registered a decline, with 22-karat gold selling at IQD 1.220 million per mithqal, 21-karat at IQD 1.155 million, and 18-karat at IQD 990,000.
