Washington: The Governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil, has embarked on an official visit to Washington with the objective of enhancing academic and cultural cooperation and securing funding for development and service projects in the province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources from the Nineveh Governor's office revealed that al-Dakhil's visit will include participation in the signing of official agreements on December 15, 2025, at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington. This event will be attended by prominent American figures and representatives from American universities and academic institutions.

During this visit, al-Dakhil aims to fortify scientific and cultural ties with the United States while supporting reconstruction and capacity-building initiatives in Nineveh. He is also focused on attracting foreign investment to aid in the province's revitalization, with the ultimate goal of restoring Nineveh's scientific and cultural prominence.
