Baghdad: The Hajj Authority has announced the successful completion of its transportation plan, ensuring the safe return of all Iranian pilgrims to their homeland. This plan was developed and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, focusing on the safe return of pilgrims arriving by land through Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated that it efficiently transported 8,338 Iranian pilgrims back to their country. This was achieved by deploying approximately 200 modern buses, which facilitated the journey from the Arar border crossing to the Shalamcheh border crossing with the Islamic Republic over a period of nine days.
The Authority detailed that it provided necessary services for the Iranian pilgrims from the moment they arrived at the Iraqi border. This included their transportation to the Hajj and Umrah City, where they were provided with complete hot meals. The Authority ensured a safe and comfortable return journey, coordinating with security, health, and service forces.
