Health Minister Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi Dismisses Director of Imam Al-Kadhimain Medical City


Baghdad: Health Minister Abdul Hussein al-Moussawi has dismissed the director of Imam al-Kadhimain Medical City and assigned the ministry’s administrative deputy to manage the hospital from a lower-level position. A statement from the Ministry of Health revealed that Minister al-Moussawi made a surprise visit to the medical facility in Baghdad to assess the quality of health services and medical care available to patients and visitors.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, during his visit, al-Moussawi reviewed the workflow and service quality at the medical city, listened to the complaints and observations of both patients and visitors, and emphasized the importance of addressing any shortcomings to enhance the health services being offered. The dismissal of the director and the temporary reassignment of management duties to the ministry’s administrative deputy, with assistance from the director general of the Al-Karkh Health Department, will remain in effect for one month until a new director is appointed.



Moreover, al-Moussawi has called for an urgent meeting with the company responsible for the hospital’s renovation, focusing on the emergency wards in the first and second phases. This meeting aims to ensure the renovation progresses swiftly and meets the necessary specifications.
