Washington:US Secretary of State Marco Rubio affirmed on Saturday that his country remains open to diplomatic solutions with Iran.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Rubio made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting. He stated, “Iran has demonstrated its ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons, and this will not happen.”

Rubio emphasized that the US is willing to pursue diplomatic solutions with Iran that do not compromise national security. He noted that ongoing talks with Iran have not ceased, with their timeframe being determined by President Trump.

Rubio also clarified that President Trump has not made any decisions regarding military action against Iran.
