Baghdad: The Al-Ataba Al-Alawiyya has taken center stage at the 27th Baghdad International Book Fair by showcasing a rare and revered copy of the Quran attributed to Imam Ali (peace be upon him).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali has announced that its pavilion is among the most prominent at the fair, both in size and significance. It offers visitors an extensive collection of over 300 publications spanning various intellectual, cultural, and heritage topics, reflecting the scholarly and intellectual contributions of the Holy Shrine.

Deputy Head of the Department, Ammar Masha’allah, highlighted that this year’s pavilion features the precious manuscript of the Quran linked to the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him). This manuscript is considered one of the most valuable in the Holy Shrine’s collection. An 18-square-meter wall dedicated to Nahj al-Balagha provides a detailed plan documenting significant copies, commentaries, and critical editions of the book, enhancing the cultural and scholarly offerings of the pavilion.

The pavilion also offers a glimpse into the historical cultural and media landscape of Najaf, displaying old newspapers and magazines such as ‘Al-Ilm,’ ‘Al-I’tidal,’ ‘Al-Hayra,’ and ‘Al-Bayan,’ which have been published in the city since 1910. Additionally, the works of the late esteemed Iraqi calligrapher, Jassim al-Najafi, are on display, highlighting their artistic and cultural significance, along with other valuable manuscripts and artifacts from the Holy Shrine’s collection.
