Karbala: The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein announced on Tuesday the success of its security, service, health, and organizational plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage, while confirming that it will continue to provide its services around the clock until the last visitor leaves the holy city of Karbala.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine stated in a press release: "The success of the Arba'een pilgrimage plan was achieved by facilitating the movement of millions of pilgrims and Husseini processions without any security breaches, service shortages, stampedes, or overcrowding inside or outside the holy shrine. This was accomplished through the diligent and direct oversight of the Custodian, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, and the Secretary-General, Hassan Rashid Jawad al-Abayji."

The statement further explained: "The Holy Shrine mobilized its human, technical, and logistical resources well in advance, placing its institutions, departments, and affiliated pilgrim cities on continuous alert as part of a comprehensive plan. Services extended from the border crossings and pilgrims' routes to the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him."

It added: "The plan encompassed security measures, including securing the area and managing crowd movement; medical services through hospitals, health centers, and medical detachments; and logistical services related to food, accommodation, transportation, drinking water, communications, guidance, and sanitation." The Secretariat explained that the success achieved was the result of early preparations, continuous planning, and the accumulation of field and organizational experience, in addition to the spirit of devotion to Imam Hussein demonstrated by the staff, volunteers, and all those involved in serving the pilgrims.

The Secretariat expressed its gratitude and appreciation to all the holy shrines, governmental, security, health, and service agencies, the processions and Husseini organizations, the media, volunteers, the people of Karbala Governorate, and the esteemed pilgrims, renewing its commitment to continuing to develop its service plans and programs to improve the level of services provided.
