Baghdad: The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced today the successful arrest of eight drug dealers and an individual involved in money laundering across multiple governorates. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operations were conducted under the directives and supervision of Minister of Defense Thabet Al-Abbasi. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Defense's General Directorate of Intelligence and Security. The field detachments of the Directorate executed these operations, which resulted in the capture of eight individuals involved in drug dealing and promoting, as well as one person charged with money laundering. The accused were apprehended in the governorates of Baghdad, Karbala, Babylon, and Muthanna. Arrest warrants were issued against them under the provisions of Article 28 of the Narcotics Law. Legal proceedings are underway, and the suspects have been transferred to the competent authorities for further action in accordance with the law .
