Baghdad: Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari chaired the periodic meeting of the Tribal Council to discuss a number of topics on the agenda.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the attendees discussed the role played by authentic Iraqi tribes in supporting security agencies in enforcing the law and supporting the campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Interior to combat phenomena and situations alien to Iraqi society.

The Minister emphasized the role of community policing and related departments in building a close relationship between security personnel and citizens, and contributing to continuous communication with Iraqi tribes and their leaders.
