Karbala: The Investment Authority is actively exploring ways to finalize the procedures for the one million land plot initiative in the holy city of Karbala. The Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Adel Dakhel Al-Yassiri, has been at the forefront of discussions to advance the completion of this ambitious project.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a recent statement from the Commission highlighted that Al-Yassiri met with the Managing Director of Al-Amniyat Company in Karbala to discuss the finalization of procedures concerning the housing project. This initiative is part of the Prime Minister’s broader plan to provide one million residential land plots to citizens. The Chairman emphasized the project’s significance, which includes the construction of 60,000 housing units in Karbala. This effort is seen as a crucial housing and investment opportunity.
The Commission is coordinating with relevant authorities to expedite the issuance of the investment license and transition to the implementation phase. This project aims to support governmental efforts to offer suitable housing for citizens while enhancing private sector participation in major housing developments.
A representative from Al-Amniyat Company stated that Karbala was among the first governorates to meet the initiative’s requirements. These requirements include land allocation, necessary approvals, and having the project voted on in the last Cabinet session. The company has completed the procedures to refer the project to the National Investment Commission, aiming to issue the investment license and commence implementation. This strategic step positions Karbala as the first governorate to launch projects under this initiative.
