Iran Demands UN Condemnation of US Threats Over Tehran Tensions


Iranian foreign minister abbas araqchi called for the us threats against tehran to be considered a violation of international law and sent a protest note to un secretary-general ant³nio guterres regarding washington’s statements. :eneral Ant³nio Guterres regarding Washington’s statements.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement indicating that Araqchi, in a letter addressed to the foreign ministers of several countries, described the latest threats by the US president against Iran as a violation of international law and the UN Charter.



Araqchi urged his counterparts in foreign ministries to publicly and unequivocally condemn the statements about the use of force against Iran, emphasizing that the United States would bear responsibility for the consequences, as reported by the ministry.



The Ministry also mentioned that Araqchi sent letters to UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, expressing Tehran’s strong protest against recent US statements.



US President Donald Trump stated on Monday during a press conference following his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he would support further strikes against Iran if Tehran continued to develop its missile and nuclear programs.



Iranian President Masoud Pelekchian had stated earlier on Tuesday, following the US president’s threats, that Tehran’s response to any aggression would be decisive.



Israel bombed Iranian nuclear facilities in June after accusing it of running a secret military program. Iran denied these accusations and retaliated in kind. The two sides exchanged strikes for 12 days, with the US joining the attack on Iranian nuclear sites once.



Iran affirmed its determination to rebuild the damaged facilities and continue developing its nuclear industry, including building new nuclear power plants, and expressed its readiness to implement confidence-building measures.
