Iran Launches Missile Strikes Targeting US Base and Destroyers

Tehran: Midnight… A large-scale Iranian attack targeted US destroyers and bases. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced early Wednesday morning that it had launched intensive missile strikes targeting the US base in Azraq, Jordan, and two US destroyers, in direct retaliation for US attacks on Iranian oil tankers and ships.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the IRGC explained in a series of statements that the military operation was carried out using solid- and liquid-fueled ballistic missiles. These missiles directly targeted maintenance, equipment, and deployment hangars for F-35, F-16, and F-15 fighter jets at the Azraq airbase in Jordan, causing significant damage.

The Iranian attacks also targeted the American destroyers DDG-119 and DDG-53, which are equipped with cruise missiles and the Aegis system. The Revolutionary Guard confirmed inflicting significant damage on them in retaliation for American military actions against Iranian commercial vessels.

Regarding the potential for further escalation, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a strongly worded warning to the United States against any miscalculations, emphasizing that the Iranian armed forces are determined to firmly confront any new American actions. The statement affirmed that this confrontation will continue until what it described as the enemy’s aggression ceases.
