Iran Seizes Foreign Tanker Carrying Six Million Liters of Smuggled Diesel in the Gulf of Oman

New york: Iranian authorities announced the seizure of a foreign tanker carrying six million liters of smuggled diesel in the Gulf of Oman near the coast of Jask. The Chief Justice of Hormozgan confirmed in a press statement: "The operation was part of the fight against fuel smuggling." According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ship's crew consisted of 18 sailors from India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, and it was sailing without shipping documents or a bill of lading in Omani waters, according to Iranian media. Authorities stated: "The navigation equipment was disabled before the tanker was seized and legally confiscated."
