Tehran: The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy announced on Saturday that it had targeted oil tankers and US ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The navy stated, “We targeted three oil tankers that were traveling in an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz and three US ships.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy added, “Our attacks on the oil tankers and US ships are in response to America’s targeting of three Iranian tankers,” urging all ships to “avoid crossing through unauthorized waterways or they will be vulnerable to targeting.”

This development follows a statement by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hagseth on Saturday evening, declaring that the United States would destroy and sink Iranian oil tankers if Iran fired on US ships.
