Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that his country reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people, based on the United Nations Charter and its provisions.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi posted on the social media platform X on Sunday, stating, “The United States has committed a serious violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons by attacking peaceful Iranian nuclear facilities.”
Araqchi further elaborated, “Based on the United Nations Charter and its provisions, which allow for a legitimate response within the framework of self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister’s statement follows the strikes announced by the United States at dawn today on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities.
