Tehran: Military Advisor to the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Yahya Rahim Safavi, announced that Iran had previously moved its missiles from the sites targeted by the United States and Israel, asserting that the strikes were hitting “empty facilities.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Safavi stated in remarks broadcast on Iranian state television: “Our missile centers were evacuated in advance. The buildings that were bombed last night, as well as those being bombed today, are completely empty. There is nothing in them-no missiles, no Revolutionary Guard personnel.” He further emphasized that the strikes were merely destroying empty structures with no personnel inside.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had previously mentioned that US forces are actively working to dismantle Iran’s ballistic missile stockpiles. He noted that the decision to initiate a ground operation remains with President Donald Trump.
The United States and Israel initiated strikes on targets within Iranian territory, including Tehran, beginning last Saturday. The Iranian Red Crescent Society reported on Tuesday that the death toll from these attacks had reached 787.
In response, Iran is conducting strikes on Israeli territory and US military installations in the Middle East. These developments occur amid ongoing discussions between Washington and Tehran concerning the Iranian nuclear program, with the most recent talks held on February 26 in Geneva.
