Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran has absolutely no intention of targeting countries in the region or engaging in conflict with them. During a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pezeshkian stated, "Iran is not seeking confrontation with neighboring countries," clarifying that "targeting American bases in neighboring countries falls within its legitimate right to defend the country."
According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Pezeshkian elaborated that Iran only targets bases that are the source of aggression against its territory, within the framework of its legitimate right to self-defense. He emphasized that the enemies have exploited neighboring countries to attack facilities, infrastructure, public places, hospitals, and schools inside Iran.
