Iraq and Kuwait Discuss Missing Persons File and Regional Issues


Baghdad: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khaled Saeed, discussed the missing persons file with the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Mohammed Zaman. The meeting highlighted various issues of mutual concern between the two nations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the discussion encompassed several key topics, including the Kuwaiti property file, maintenance of border pillars, and the missing persons file. Additionally, the two parties addressed the issue of mutual support in nominations for positions within international organizations.



The meeting also covered recent developments in regional and international situations and the humanitarian situation in Gaza. This dialogue is part of the shared commitment between Iraq and Kuwait to enhance consultation and cooperation.



The Kuwaiti Ambassador took the opportunity to congratulate the Government of Iraq on its recent achievement of securing membership in the Human Rights Council for the term 2026-2028.
