Baghdad: Iraq and Mauritania signed several memoranda of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, including social affairs, family and child welfare, political consultations, mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, service, and special passports, as well as trade and education.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister of Culture and Antiquities Ahmed Al-Badrani said the agreements also included a memorandum of cooperation between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Mauritanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, in addition to executive programs for educational and cultural cooperation for the years 2026-2028.
Mauritanian Minister of Culture, Arts, Relations, and Communication Al-Hussein Ould Meddou stated that these memoranda form a foundation for expanding Iraqi-Mauritanian relations in the fields of education, industry, agriculture, and political cooperation. He expressed his country’s desire to enhance trade and investment ties with Iraq, benefiting from the stability and openness the country is witnessing.
