Baghdad: Iraq and South Korea have initiated discussions to explore cooperation opportunities between their respective naval forces, focusing on training and armament. The Commander of the Iraqi Navy, Rear Admiral Hisham Taher Hammadi, held a meeting with the Republic of Korea’s Military Attach©, Lieutenant Colonel Jung Hee-jin, to deliberate on enhancing naval coordination.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was part of a broader initiative to strengthen military ties between the two nations. The Ministry of Defense released a statement indicating that Rear Admiral Hammadi welcomed the South Korean delegation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Jung Hee-jin, to discuss mutual interests in naval training and armament.
