Iraq and Sudan Review Bilateral Relations

Baghdad The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, reviewed, today, Wednesday, with the Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement that “President of the Republic Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid met today in the Algerian capital, the Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on the sidelines of the meetings of the Arab Summit in its thirty-first session, which began its work on Tuesday.”

The statement added, “During the meeting, it was emphasized the need to develop the level of relations, cooperation and coordination between Iraq and Sudan at the regional and international levels in a manner that serves the higher interests between the two countries.”

It continued, “The historical brotherly relations that bind the peoples of Iraq and Sudan were reviewed, and the importance of strengthening and expanding them was emphasized.”
